IML Film (In-Mould Labelling)

In-Mould Labelling (IML) is a packaging technology in which the label is made from a specially pre-printed plastic film that is placed into the mould, after which the plastic material is injected into the mould. During the moulding or injection moulding process, the plastic solidifies and the label becomes fully integrated into the product, without the need for separate adhesives or other fixing methods. As a result, the label becomes an integral part of the packaging, offering durability, high abrasion resistance and being non-removable. It is also resistant to moisture and temperature fluctuations.

It represents an environmentally friendly solution, as it reduces the use of additional adhesives, heat treatments and other auxiliary materials. During recycling, the finished product does not need to be separated.

The technology itself enables high quality and detailed printing. It is also suitable for creating packaging with an attractive and professional appearance.

This packaging method is ideal for food products, beverages, chemicals and other products exposed to demanding conditions.

Shape

Each IML film is tailored to the specific product, whether it is a container or a plastic bucket.

Substrate

The IML film can be produced from white, transparent or metallised BOPP film.

Printing and Finishing

Various varnishes can be applied to the film, in either matt or gloss finish.
